It's finally happening! After seven years of dating and one particularly eventful weekend followed by 3+ years dodging the question 'how's the wedding planning going?' we are finally tying the knot!

Tis been an amazing journey to be sure - filled with epic adventures, multiple degrees, fabulous friendships and families, registrations, property purchases, copious travel, even starting our own firm - and we are ever so excited to celebrate this next big thing in our lives with all of you.

So without further ado (and two resounding I dos), please join us for a weekend - or day - of fabulous fun, food, drinks a-plenty, dancing and general merriment against the beautiful backdrop of glorious Mt Barney!

the details

The Venue

Mount Barney Lodge is located in the beautiful Scenic Rim; a secluded sanctuary off the beaten track nestled in the foothills of Mount Barney. We have booked the entire site so that we can enjoy unlimited access to the various homesteads, cabins, camping grounds and facilities: including absolutely no noise cut-off restrictions!

Full address: 1093 Upper Logan Road, Mount Barney QLD

Accommodation

A large draw-factor for us in choosing the site was the ability to offer our guests the ability to stay on-site: in aid of enabling carefree merriment well into the night without worry or need for travel after. For the most part, there are ample camping sites for all our guests with top notch shared amenities facilities; we will also keep the kitchen and indoor/outdoor living spaces of one of the huts open for camper use outside of the event. Camping and use of motorhomes / campervans etc is freely available to all guests, with sites allocated on a first come first served basis on the weekend. If you would like to camp but do not have access to a tent the Lodge has tents avliable to rent for $25/night. Please tick this box when RSVPing and we will have the tent ready for you to grab on the day. We will also have seasonned tent setter-up-erers roaming the campsite on the Saturday from 11am to 1pm to help anyone less familiar with tent assembly.

We have allocated the majority of the homestead and cabin accommodation to family and helpers. However, there are a few cabin rooms still avaliable so if you love the idea of staying on site but have a deep-seeded adversion to the idea of camping please contact us and we'll see what we can arrange. Alternatively, there are a number of lovely accommodation spots nearby to rent, including:

  • Mount Barney Creek Vineyard Cottages (12 minute drive)

  • Thistledown Country retreat (13 minute drive)

  • Various Airbnb stays between Rathdowny (25 minutes drive) and Boonah (45 minutes drive)

*There are no powered sites, so please keep this in mind when considering use of the campground.

Getting There

Mount Barney Lodge is a 1.5 - 2 hour drive south from Brisbane so please allow ample time to arrive if joining us for the day only. Our ceremony will be taking place down by the creek near the entrance to the site so please make sure you have parked and are enjoying a pre-ceremony beverage by 2:30pm to ensure you are not caught out by the driveway gate closure during the ceremony.

If you will be making use of the campsite please arrive between 11am and 1pm to give yourself plenty of time to set up, relax, and freshen up before heading over to the pre-cermeony drinks at 2pm. Helpers will be available during this time period to give you a run down of the site's facilities, direct you to an available site, and help assemble your tent if needed.

Alternatively, anyone wishing to travel down and set up camp Friday afternoon is more than welcome to join us early! Please just let us know when filling out the RSVP form so that we have an idea of numbers. We will be hosting a BBQ dinner for our lovely helpers with us on the Friday - if you'd like to join in please bring a plate of food to share and come enjoy a homey dinner with us at Boolamoola Homestead. The kitchen and living spaces of one of the huts will be available for your use.

Pre - Ceremony

For those arriving to the Lodge early we'd encourage exploring the site & surrounding Mount Barney National Park; we only ask that you steer clear of the two Homesteads and Ceremony location in the lead up to the event as we'll be busy setting up in those locations. When the clock hits 2pm walk on over to the field adjacent to the ceremony spot to enjoy a beverage before heading down to the ceremony at 3pm.

Sunday Send-off

Site-wide check out is 10am so the Lodge kindly requests that all campers and cabin-stayers are packed up and ready to go by this time. Once you're good to go and parked outside the reception please come join us at Boolamoola Homestead for a big Sunday Send-off Brunch. If you are staying off-site in the area please come join us; brunch and general relaxing plus lawn games will be running from 10am till 1pm.

We can't wait to see you all there!

xoxo Andrew & Suzy
